CNET Networks UK Business Technology Awards nominates Corvil
Dublin, Ireland, July 10, 2008 – Corvil, the leading supplier of Latency Management Systems for high-performance trading networks, has been shortlisted for ‘Networking Product of the Year’ at this year’s CNET Networks UK Business Technology Awards.
The CorvilNet product nomination is based on key innovations that enable Corvil’s customers to gain an edge over their competitors. These innovations include the ability to specify meaningful SLAs for their networked applications, and then continuously monitor for compliance with those SLAs. For example, a CorvilNet market data feed SLA might specify maximum 500 microseconds latency for 99.9999% of packets in every 5 minute period. No other product can ensure SLA Compliance for these applications.
With the advent of algorithmic trading, latency is in fact one of the most important performance metrics for market data dissemination and trading systems, and those that have the fastest systems will achieve a clear competitive advantage. The result is a race to gain competitive advantage with latency targets for these services steadily shrinking from tens of milliseconds to milliseconds, and even to microseconds. CorvilNet provides the network manager with the ability to monitor the network at this granularity and identify latency bottlenecks in the infrastructure. CorvilNet also contains a unique set of algorithms which help diagnose the cause of the latency and make specific recommendations for how to restore SLA Compliance. These recommendations combined with SLA Compliance monitoring can be used to target investment in the network to constantly reduce latency and obtain a competitive edge in the algorithmic trading environment.
The CNET Networks UK Business Technology Awards celebrate the greatest achievements of the UK’s business technology innovators, leaders and doers, and create new opportunities for them to grow by showcasing their successes and connecting them with the industry elite.
The winners will be announced on 23 September 2008.
