Application Latency Management

CorvilNet’s Application Latency Management module is specifically targeted at financial applications and supports real-time decoding of native trading protocols and market data feeds for most major markets in both North America and Europe.

New decoders and decoder updates are released by Corvil as separate software packages and can be installed independent of product software releases.  Customers can also add their own decoders using the Corvil Decoder Development Kit.

The Application Latency Management module enables end-to-end, hop-by-hop trade order execution and market data latency measurements in real-time with microsecond resolution. This module leverages CorvilNet’s time synchronization functionality and scalable architecture to support distributed application latency correlation for every trade order and market data message.

The Application Latency Management module is fully integrated with CorvilNet’s Latency Compliance, Troubleshooting and Reporting.  Users can for the first time in a single product, compare and correlate both application and network latency performance.

  • Real-Time Application Micro-Visibility – Real-time full message decoding and reporting for most major trading protocols and market data feeds
  • Order Latency Compliance – Correlate new orders, modifies, cancels, etc. with all responses for complete trade order latency analysis
  • One-Way Application Latency – Measure one-way message latency hop-by-hop across the trading infrastructure including trading gateways, feed handlers, smart order routers, etc.
  • Middleware Micro-Visibility – Decode and report on middleware anomalies including gap detection, microbursts, and retransmissions
  • Message Microburst – Report and alert on application message rates and microburst (supports alerts when message rates breach server limits)
  • Message Anomaly Detection – Real-time alerting on any message type to report anomalous behaviour (e.g. Tibco NAKs exceed specified rate)
  • Trade-to-Tick Latency – Report latency from trade orders to corresponding market data ticks
  • Relative Market Data Feed Latency – Measure relative latency of A feed vs. B feed, native feed vs. consolidated feed, and data center vs. co-lo/proximity deployment
  • Network Correlation – All application latency is correlated with network latency and microburst measurements for easy root-cause analysis
