Today’s modern software defined compute environment has achieved a new level of price performance advantage while simultaneously delivering optimal flexibility and agility through the logical separation of hardware and software. The introduction of bare metal open compute hardware is driving commoditization of the hardware layer. Software is where the value is. The introduction of virtualization and container technology is making it easier for software to run on commodity hardware with good performance and reliability.

Unfortunately, the world of NPM, APM and Net Forensics is far behind this innovation curve. Legacy vendors still cling to an outdated technology and pricing model for network probe solutions. These systems typically use custom hardware, and black box pricing that requires customers to repurchase the full solution once the hardware is end of life.

Corvil uses a revolutionary new approach called the software defined appliance. This delivers the best price, performance and reliability combination possible.

Corvil first separates out hardware and software. Our hardware engines are supplied as bare metal appliances at cost. We make no profit on any hardware we supply to our customers. Our software analytics is offered in a modular fashion with both annual and perpetual license options supported. Perpetual software licenses are truly perpetual and survive after end of life. The Corvil software defined appliance model provides customers with up to 40% lower total cost of ownership over five years compared to legacy appliance pricing models. Because Corvil supplies both hardware and software we are able to provide a single vendor support model which avoids finger pointing when something goes wrong.
